New Version 17.1 "Eclectic Eagle"
Six months have passed since the latest release, but now the OPNsense team has released version 17.1 Eclectic Eagle and expanded its impressive feature set with additional features and functions. One of the main innovations is the operating system: Instead of FreeBSD 10.3, the edition 11.0 of the unix-derivative will be used.

Additional to the significant OS change, OPNsense added full mesh routing for virtual private networks, enhanced multi-WAN support, native PAM authentication against e.g. 2 Factor Authentication (TOTP) and various new or updated plugins.
